Do you love to have fresh food when you dine out? Love farm-to-table venues? Look no further – The Monument Cafe is the best cafe in Georgetown TX!
My brother has lived and traveled all over the world and said The Monument Cafe served the best breakfast he ever had! We love taking our guests there, and it is a favorite of many visitors to Scurlock Farms, with many making repeat trips.
The Monument Cafe was opened in 1995 by Rusty Winkstern, a farm boy from New York. It has been going non-stop, full out ever since. Folks can’t seem to get enough of the freshly prepared foods.
Everything served and prepared is fresh – never frozen. Much of the produce is purchased from local farmers, after the farm is inspected by their manager. The Monument Cafe has purchased jalapeno and Serrano peppers from Scurlock Farms.
The Monument Cafe is always crowded and once you have eaten their fresh food, you will understand why. It is a not-so-well kept secret that the locals love this cafe. They are open for breakfast at 7 am and close at 3 pm. If you arrive at peak hours, be prepared to wait. This would be a good time to wander about and enjoy their beautiful gardens.
This cafe was designed along the lines of a New York diner. You will want to visit the rest rooms before leaving as there are none like it in all of Georgetown!
As a thank you to the Georgetown community, Rusty provides a free Thanksgiving dinner to anyone that would like to come. He has many volunteers assist with the preparation and serving this very well attended event.
