We are pet friendly at Scurlock Farms!

Have you ever taken a trip to a “pet friendly” advertised location with your pet?

Upon arrival were you dismayed to find your pet was required to be on a leash the entire time or kept caged?  Or your pet was not allowed to get on any of the furniture?  Scurlock Farms truly is a pet friendly property as seen by these family pets enjoying different aspects of the farm.

Some of our four-legged guests enjoy lazing in front of the fireplaces, others playing with Jack, others swimming in the San Gabriel River on the farm, romping about the 172 acres leash-free, playing frisbee, etc., etc.

All pets that visit the farm must be totally house trained and non-aggressive to people and other pets, as they might encounter other guests and their pets enjoying the farm, too.  Please make sure to pick up after your pets.

Most owners and pets love the fact the pets don’t have to be on a leash.  They are free to run and roam – to be a dog on vacation!

Dan and I are both animal lovers.  Dan picked up every stray dog or cat when he was young on his walks home from school.  We will donate 10% of your pet fee to Vet Ranch in Boerne, TX.

Vet Ranch is a group of vets that use donations to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals (all types) who are destined to be euthanized or given up on.

Georgetown is a dog friendly town!

“The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas” welcomes dogs.  You will see dogs relaxing with their owners on the patio at 600 Degrees Pizzeria or at the outside tables at Cianfrani Coffee.  We had a booth at the Red Poppy Festival in April and we quit counting when we observed over 100 dogs with their owners in less than one day!

If you think your special pet deserves a special treat, be sure and visit Tail Waggin Bakery

Visit Georgetown’s off-the-leash dog park if your pet wants “doggy” company!

The Bark Park is a beautiful park set among six acres in a  pecan grove.  There are two separate areas: one for small dogs under 30 pounds, another for larger dogs.  Your pets can run to their hearts content in fenced safety.

The Pallette Pad is the perfect location for exploring the Texas Hill Country.

The Pallette Pad is the perfect location for exploring the Texas Hill Country. We made forays to Georgetown, Fredricksburg, Austin, Round Lake, Colorado Bend State Park and Sun City. We golfed, hiked, shopped, dined, fed goats, hunted for fossils and relics and relaxed! Dan and Sheron are great hosts and terrific people – very helpful and most interesting. Sheron shared the legacy of the Scurlock Farms and of course, C.P. Montague. What a beautiful setting along the San Gabriel River and rich history. Many thanks to our hosts for making our trip extra special – we look forward to our return.
