Inner Space Caverns Georgetown is a beautiful cave system that is open to the public year-round.
This beautiful cave system was discovered in 1963 by the Texas Highway Department when a large drill drilled into space. A worker was lowered down into the 18″ opening and got the first glimpse of this beautiful cave.
Several skeletons of prehistoric Ice-Age animals, mammoth and saber-toothed tiger bones, have been found in the cavern.
I took my oldest granddaughter when she was 5 years old, along with a 5 year old friend and his grandmother. The kids enjoyed it then, and have been again as they got older and appreciated it even more.
Enjoy a 1.2 mile guided tour of the caverns when you visit Scurlock Farms. Several miles of cave passage have been surveyed, but there are still many sections of the cave that have not been unexplored, due to filled-in areas blocking the way.
Many guests at Scurlock Farms have enjoyed taking the tour of the Inner Space Caverns while visiting.
