Many folks are really into organic food these days. Many guests staying at Scurlock Farms ask me where to buy organic food in Georgetown. Luckily, there are several places!
Every Saturday morning there is a farmer’s market in the Wolf Ranch shopping center at I35 and Highway 29 (look for all of the tents). Many vendors sell out of their organically grown produce, grass-fed beef, fresh eggs and baked goods before the morning is over. In addition to the fresh produce, honey, etc., you can get your breakfast or lunch and beverages at some of the vendors.
There is also another farmer’s market in Round Rock on Saturdays if you happen to be shopping at the outlet mall or IKEA. It is at 201 University Oaks (behind IKEA), in the University Oaks Shopping Center. 10 am – 2 pm.
If you are looking for a farmer’s market on Sundays, head on over to Cedar Park to the farmer’s market in the parking lot at Family Emergency Center at 3620 E. Whitestone Blvd. Open 12 – 3 pm.
On Wednesdays Sun City hosts their market at 2 Texas Dr. in Sun City from 9 – 12.
Georgetown Farmer’s Market
Thursdays there are two markets to choose from, or visit them both! The Georgetown Market is in the Georgetown Church of Christ parking lot at 1525 W. University Ave. from 3:30 – 6:30. The other is Farmer George’s in the Republic Square Shopping Center 900 N. Austin Ave., from 2:30 – 5:30.
Go early as many do sell out of their products before the end of the market. Enjoy!
