What to do, What to do on an Afternoon Outing to Georgetown?!
When you visit Georgetown, be sure and save a few hours to stroll about ‘The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas’ if you are looking for an afternoon outing in Georgetown TX. Depending on the season and the day, you will find varied things to do. The square is spectacular when the crepe myrtles lining the streets are in full bloom and when the Christmas lights make the square a fantasy land.
Are you an Art Lover?
Visit the Art Center at 816 S. Main Street. See the murals painted on the sides of many of the downtown buildings. Or, drop by the Visitor’s Center at 107 W. 7th Street and pick up a brochure showing the location of the many wonderful sculptures around the square.
If you visit on Friday or Saturday, check out the free courthouse tours at 1:30, 2:30 or 3:30. Many of our guests have taken the tour and really enjoyed it.
Visiting on Wednesday or Saturday? Look around the Williamson County Museum.
If on a Thursday afternoon and you are in the mood for some fresh produce, visit the Georgetown Farmers Market by farmer George at Republic Square, beginning at 2:30.
You certainly won’t go hungry spending an afternoon or day around the square with the many dining options! Wildfire, Gumbo’s, Roots Bistro, 600 Degrees Pizza, Laurie’s, Burger University are just some of the establishments you will have to choose from.

Finish up your afternoon with a visit to one of the local wineries located right on the square. Grape Creek Winery at 101 W 7th or Georgetown Winery at 715 S. Main St. Do a tasting and take a souvenir glass home with you.
