Many of you that are reading this will have stayed in a vacation rental home,
considered a Short Term Rental, STR. If you have not tried one yet, do and I am sure you will be absolutely amazed!
The state policymakers are currently considering legislation to protect everyone’s right to rent their home as a vacation or short-term rental
Texas has been home to generations of rental homeowners and travelers.
Traditional whole-home short-term rentals have helped property owners throughout the state save for retirement, cover their mortgage, or simply make ends meet. We are using it for college expenses for three granddaughters and a niece. Without that extra income, this would be a tremendous expense!.
Our rentals have offered families the opportunity to enjoy a whole vacation outside the traditional tourist hot-spots. Along the way, local businesses have benefited from all the economic activity you and your travelers bring.
My family has used short-term rental vacation homes for over 20 years in many different states, and we have made many, many memories!
Over the next few weeks, the state legislature will consider SB 451,
a bill that protects your right to rent your private property as a short-term rental. The legislationprohibits local municipalities from banning short-term rentals.
With the clock ticking, we need to do everything we can to make sure decision makers are hearing from supporters about the benefits of vacation rentals for Texas. We’d love to get you involved as much as possible to make sure our representatives in the Texas Legislature are aware of how important this issue is to their neighbors and fellow community members.

as well as from all over Texas. These guests have spent a lot of money in Texas and have helped the local and state economies.
There is nothing like a large family being able to stay in a vacation rental home,
rather than in multiple motel or hotel rooms and trying to gather and visit in the breakfast room! They are able to truly relax in their own space, can cook if they choose to, can use that home as their home base for day trips around the area, or just simply be together in peace and quiet and enjoy the surroundings they have chosen.
